Globi's version 4 Companion CMS is a state-of-the-art evolution of content management systems. We pioneered the CMS concept in the late 90's, and in 2010, our CMS has evolved into an even more robust and useful tool. You, the client, gets the benefit of content management and high-performance features, at a much reduced cost-of-entry.
No Design Restriction
Unlike modular CMS' like Joomla which restrict design into very rigid and specific blocks of content, Globi's Companion CMS does not impose any design restrictions. The design and layout of your website is as flexible as the graphic designer's imagination.
Easy Editing
Editing of content is as easy as using a simple word processor. A rich text editor allows editing of general page content, while specific content like images are a simple one-click upload.
Robust Structure
With Globi's Companion CMS, content type is pre-defined and well controlled. Only selected content areas are editable, preventing accidental breaking of the entire site structure. Even images can be automatically resized and cropped on upload to prevent structure compromise by unexpected large (or small) images.
Editable Areas
The smallest unit of editable content is an area. This can be something as simple as a heading, or as complicated as a sidebar.
Pages & Sections
The majority of each website is made up of pages, and sometimes pages can be grouped in relevant sections. Each section and page can be defined with great flexibility, allowing editing privileges to the content you need to change, while preserving the integrity of the site through protected structural elements.
Easily Create New Pages
In sections, you can easily create new pages, which can automatically be added to the navigation. This is great for areas like "Services" where you can add and remove service offerings easily. The creation of new orphan pages let you add pages where you want, without them being tied to section.
Collections of Similar Content
The "collections" concept allows grouping of similar content. This is perfect for things like articles or news, where the content is usually represented as a summary overview page, with links to the detail page of each item.
Search Engine Friendly URLs
Unlike most popular open source CMS', you don't need to search and tamper with different plugins and extensions to make your URLs search-engine friendly. Globi's Companion CMS has search engine friendly URLs by default.
Content Caching
To keep your website running at top speed, all content is cached. This means that the CMS does not have to get all the content from the database each time someone visits a page. The CMS already knows what the finished page looks like after the first visitor.
Blog Plugin
Most websites today have blogs attached to them. No need to install a separate system altogether just for this. Globi's Companion CMS has a blog plugin which makes the blog an integral part of the main CMS for easy posting.
Catalogue Plugin
If you have products to showcase, the catalogue plugin will allow just that. Categories can be set up in a flexible unlimited hierarchy, and each category can have unlimited products. Even better, product pages are not restricted in design either.
Shopping Cart Plugin
If the products in your catalogue are for sale, the shopping cart plugin allows visitors to purchase items from your website with ease. Whether you accept credit cards through your merchant account, or if you're just starting out and using PayPal, Globi's Companion CMS will have your website making you money in no time.
Custom Plugins
If you require additional functionality not included in the default product, we can create custom plugins for you which can achieve any desired functionality while still being intuitively inside the main CMS framework. After all, you just want to log into ONE system to make changes to your website.
